What is PDR?

Also known as paintless dent repair, it is the technique of removing dents, dings and creases as well as hail damage from metal automotive panels. The PDR process has evolved and there are now more techniques available then ever, which utilize specialist tools and various methods to restore the vehicle panels back to factory-like condition. It eliminates painting, filling and sanding, therefore is an environmentally-friendly repair method that saves time and money as well as keeping the factory paint finish.

AUDI A1 Quarter

This customer came to us for a quote as had a couple of bodyshop quotes for this parking damage ranging from £1200-£5000 for filling or welding in a new rear quarter.

The customer didn’t want the panel filling as “never looks right” his words and didn’t want the vehicle off the road for weeks, repaired with no paint or filler in a full day. Customer review below

Hail Damaged Roof Rail

Repairing hail damage is quite the daunting task. Often body shops choose replacing panels and painting. However certain areas that cannot be replaced can be repaired using PDR. These jobs test the patience, but are very rewarding to complete.

Delving into a hail repair job successfully is overcoming many challenges. Removing the interior roof lining allows access to push from the inside, and shows where challenging areas are above structural bracing and roof cartridges. We can repair dents on many areas of vehicles using various techniques.

Bodyline Crease

Removing a dent quickly can avoid damaging the paint and stretching the metal. Repairing creases and dents on bodylines are some of the most satisfying to complete. These areas are prone to damage, and dents in these areas draw the eye.

We spend extra time on bodylines to restore the structure of the panel, and the finish back to factory like standards.

Panel Save

This Prius was scheduled for a new wing and paint. I was called in to see if it could be saved. Using glue pulling and specialist tools, I used various techniques to minimise metal stretching. The dent was a few months old which in some cases can cause the paint to stretch also. The customer was happy with the result deeming it a vast improvement, and decided that a repaint was not needed.

Acting quick with dents can lessen the damage done, recovering the panels prior shape and finish.

The Challenging Caddy

A large dent on the near side rear, no access to the rear of the panel to push out the dent, this was due to structural bracing behind the panel. We had to rethink the method and were able to get a great result by glue pulling, despite the panel being stretched (see below). This saved time, money and a lot of filler!

We noticed a few little ones on the rear doors while doing the large one

Whilst working on the large area, we noticed a few subtle dents that our light makes it impossible for us to ignore.

So we removed them as an added extra no charge!

The Nasty Wing Ding

Here we raised the vehicle to gain access under the wheel arch liner, to carefully ease the dent out utilizing various pushing tools. Dent removed within a couple of hours, no paint, no new panel, saving money and time off the road.
